A Sponsored Residential Provider is someone who has chosen to have direct responsibility for the guidance and supervision of a matched intellectually disabled adult that is placed in their home. They oversee the physical support, development of behavior and attitudes, and help them to succeed by providing a nurturing family environment to grow in. In addition to working within this population for at least a year and familiarizing themselves with state regulations,the Sponsored Provider is required to complete training and maintain certifications in CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Therapeutic Options of Virginia, OSHA, ID Workbook, Policy and Procedures and Documentation Training. Traditional Care Services will pay for all necessary training.

After a Sponsored is matched with an individual, the Sponsor’s home must be inspected and all occupants are to be background checked and fingerprinted. TCS Coordinators will check in on individuals and their care providers once a week to ensure the process is going smoothly. And the Providers will receive a stipend for their services.
